Lander University to Hold Groundbreaking for New Nursing Building

GREENWOOD, S.C. — Construction is underway on Lander University's new, state-of-the-art nursing building, and the public is invited to celebrate this exciting milestone at an official groundbreaking celebration on Tuesday, May 6, at 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will take place near the intersection of Willson Street and Stanley Avenue, adjacent to the Student Success Center, where work is already in progress on an experiential learning center designed to enhance healthcare education and provide advanced resources for Lander's nursing majors.

Nursing is one of Lander’s largest academic majors, and the new facility will provide the School of Nursing with simulation laboratories, classrooms, laboratory monitoring rooms and collaborative study and huddle areas.

Funding for the new building was provided by the state legislature in 2021. It will be the third nursing education facility on the University’s campus, joining Barratt Hall and the Self Regional Healthcare Nursing Skills Simulation Center, which opened in 2022.
