The Greenwood County Library will come alive with color, music, and the joy of reading as The Greenwood Promise and Emerald City Rotary host a special celebration in honor of Dolly Parton’s birthday. Families are invited to a lively story hour -where young readers can enjoy sweet treats, bright balloons, and a festive atmosphere inspired by Dolly’s love of books.
A Dolly Parton impersonator will delight children with a storytime performance that captures the magic and warmth of the beloved icon. The event also shines a spotlight on Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that has gifted millions of books to children across the country and helped spark a lifelong love of reading. Families will also be able to sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library which provides free books every month to children 0 to 5 years old.
Adding to the festivities, The Greenwood Promise’s beloved mascot, Professor Promise, will be on hand for photos, high-fives, and plenty of smiles—making this a perfect outing for families looking to create lasting memories. The event is Saturday, January 31st, 11am-12p in the children’s section of the Greenwood County Library, 600 South Main Street.
