Position Overview: Develops, plans, coordinates, promotes and executes Chamber events & programs. Manages all aspects of the events/programs. Coordinate with the Marketing & Communications staff to project a clear, consistent message to the Chamber membership.

Job Responsibilities:

Plan and Coordinate Chamber Events including but not limited to: Annual Membership Meeting, Golf Classic, Grape Stomp, Business After Hours…. .Responsible for all aspect of above referenced events; Provide necessary and appropriate communication with Chamber staff and volunteers to ensure a successful event and to create a positive experience for event attendees.

Act as Chamber Liaison/coordinator for all Chamber Programs.  Assist committee chairs as needed to facilitate meetings and execute program deliverables and events including but not limited to Women’s Leadership Collaborative, Small Business Council, Non Profit Council, Leadership Greenwood, Connect Young Professionals.

Schedule dates with the Marketing & Communications Team for all marketing materials to ensure timely delivery of materials to the membership.  

Prepare and meet event budgets; Evaluate and determine all aspects of events including date/time/location, and topics/speakers for events; Negotiate terms of contract for host facility/entertainment and speakers within budget; coordinate needs and staff event appropriately with staff and volunteers.

Secure sponsorships as necessary.

Create new events and programs as a way to generate new revenue to the Chamber.

Prepare a written report of events each month for Chamber board meetings.

Prepare written communication for electronic news posts as needed

Evaluate each event or program after each activity and implement any necessary changes based on the evaluation outcomes.

Identify new programs or materials which will directly benefit the membership and to help engage the membership in the Chamber.

Retain Chamber members through good customer service and outreach. Develop relationships with members to better understand member needs.

Supervise interns as appropriate.

Recruit and supervise volunteers as appropriate.

Mange ambassador program for the chamber

 

Qualifications

2 - 3 years proven event planning success & experience

4-year degree or equivalent

Ability to multi-task

Attention to detail

Proficient knowledge of computers, specifically Microsoft Office suite software

Ability to coordinate and work with volunteers

Excellent customer service skills

Creativity

Proficiency in social media

Ability to work with minimal supervision

Ability to self-motivate
